Being an older woman, who actually watched the first ever episode of Star Trek, and became a fan right there and then.....
I was very Leary of watching the new star trek movie. I loved my old guys, and never actually got in to the other star trek spin off..... so I figured that move would never be ""STAR TREK""
BOY WAS I WRONG!!!!! LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT!!!
TOTALLY YUMMMMMMMMY!!!!

I'm another of the old trekkies with Captain Kirk, Spock, etc. I haven't watched any of the new stuff, but perhaps it is worth a try. Thanks.

Yeah, I was totally impressed by how good the new actors are too. They are worthy successors to the original characters!
Saw it. Loved it. Never was a Trek fan, but I am now! Spock rocks my world.
I've always been a huge fan of the original series and never felt the others quite matched it in spirit, and the movies rarely did. But with this new version, they really pulled it off!. They've captured the humour and personality of the original with a whole new cast. Loved it. Can't wait for the sequel :)
ha... I know exactly what you mean about thinking that nothing could compare....was an orignal trekkie myself.. yet have to admit... once I seen Capt. Piccard I was smitten... and the new movie... for any old trekkie... you just had to love the way they threw little things in there to relate to the old characters.... like you... loved it....
